How to Get There and Where to Park

To make you experience at Fiesta San Antonio as enjoyable as possible, you should plan ahead for transportation and parking to the Fiesta events. These guidelines will help you get to Fiesta and find parking in the easiest way possible.

Fiesta Transportation

VIA Park & Ride

VIA Metropolitan Transit offers a special park and ride service from several locations around San Antonio to several Fiesta events, including St. Mary's Oyster Bake, NIOSA and all three major parades. Round trip service is $6 per person. Log on to the VIA website for more details about special park and ride times and locations.

Taxi Services

If you don't want to drive or deal with parking when attending Fiesta events, taking a taxi is another good option. San Antonio has a great deal of different taxi cab services to choose from.

Fiesta Parking

If you are going to drive, you will need to plan ahead for parking. Here is parking information for some of Fiesta's main events.

  • Fiesta Parades
    For the Battle of Flowers Parade, Flambeau Night Parade and Texas Cavaliers River Parade, it is recommended that you try to use the Park & Ride Service. If you decide to drive to one of the events, there are numerous parking garages on the streets near the parade routes but they will be very crowded. Make sure to come early to give yourself plenty of time to find parking and bring cash for payment.
  • A Taste of New Orleans
    To park for A Taste of New Orleans, Brackenridge Park has a limited number of spaces. You will also parking within walking distance on any of the side streets or nearby lots (including Alamo Stadium and Trinity University). Also the Valero parking garage will be open with a number of parking spaces. For more information, call (210) 637-8238.
  • Fiesta Arts Fair
    There are many parking garages and self-pay parking lots within two blocks of the Southwest School of Art & Craft, the location of the Fiesta Arts Fair. These lots are located along St. Mary's, Navarro, Augusta and Soledad streets.
  • NIOSA
    The City of San Antonio and private parking services provide many lots within walking distance to NIOSA. However, visitors are encouraged to use the VIA Park & Ride Service. In addition, river taxis also provide transportation along the San Antonio River with stops near the NIOSA gate.
  • Oyster Bake
    St. Mary's Oyster Bake offers a limited amount of parking spaces on-campus for $10. However, they encourage visitors to use the VIA Park & Ride Service. As an incentive to take use the service, patrons will receive a coupon for one free bottle of RC/Big Red soda at Oyster Bake.
