Think You Have What It Takes to Be the San Antonio Guide?

Friday June 20, 2008
We're looking for passionate and enthusiastic individual to be the Guide to the San Antonio site on About.com!

What sort of information do we want the new Guide to provide?
Well, we're looking for someone who can help locals (particularly locals who just moved to the area) learn about the ins and outs of San Antonio that a tourist wouldn't necessarily need to know: how to get civic services, best schools, where to live, along with reviews of restaurants and nightlife.

What sort of person are we looking for to be the new Guide to San Antonio?
Our ideal candidate will live in or around the city, have published writing experience covering the area (either in a blog, magazine, or newspaper), and know how to keep their ear to the ground to find out what's happening in their area.

If this sounds like you, and you've got excellent writing skills and the desire to reach and teach a broad audience through your writing, why not go over to our application site to learn more about our hiring program and submit an application?

Spurs Rally to Overthrow Kings

Tuesday April 15, 2008

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Sacramento Kings on Monday to remain in the third seed in the Western Conference standings. Although the Kings (38-43) entered the game without a chance to make the playoffs, they fought the Spurs throughout the game. The Spurs, who trailed by six late in the fourth, rallied behind a strong effort from Tony Parker. Parker had 32 points and 11 assists for the Spurs, who won 101-98 and improved their record to 55-26.

The Spurs play their last game of the regular season on Friday against the Utah Jazz. The game, which will be played in the AT&T Center, will be an extremely pivotal game. If the Spurs win, they are guaranteed no worse than the third seed. If they lose, San Antonio could drop all the way down to sixth.

The 2008 playoffs will begin this weekend. The Spurs will play their first postseason game on either Saturday or Sunday. The playoff schedule will be announced on Wednesday night. We will keep you updated here on the schedule. You can order playoff tickets for the first two home games on Spurs.com.

Thursday April 10, 2008

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is featured in the film "Quantum Hoops", which is being played one night only on Thursday, April 10th, at the Alamo Drafthouse.

The film, directed by Rick Greenwald, is about the Caltech basketball team and their quest to end an epic 21-year losing streak (over 250 games).
